The foundation of French cooking is based on a handful of fundamental techniques that elevate simple, good quality ingredients.
In these group classes we explore these and develop skills including knife-work and French cooking methods in a relaxed, hands-on way. We cook, taste and talk as we go, keeping the atmosphere informal, sociable and fun.
Each class can be as bespoke as you like, from a light-hearted, social gathering to a more focused and in-depth learning experience. If there are particular dishes you have always wanted to try making, the recipes we practice can be tailored to these.
French Culinary Principles
Seasonal Italian cooking
Italian cookery is at its best when done in relaxed company with a laid-back and indulgent approach to the process. In these classes we’ll explore the core principles of Italian cooking — simplicity, seasonality and respect for ingredients.
The focus is on informal learning rather than perfection, with clear guidance, practical techniques and dishes you’ll genuinely want to recreate at home.
Ideal for friends, family gatherings or informal celebrations, these classes are as much about the experience as the food — generous, joyful and centred around the table. As always, lots of tasting and wine sipping is welcomed.
The fundamentals of butchery
The skills of meat preparation and butchery are increasingly rarified, however being equipped with these improves confidence and versatility in the Kitchen.
We explore the flavours and culinary uses of lesser-used cuts and products as well as establishing core butchery skills.
